Feel free also to just comment here. I think anon and whatnot is enabled right on all those HMDs (I might be mistaken) but I'd totally prefer you to just do it logged in. So that we can talk about it like rational people and stuff! And be friends!

...though some of them are just kind of like that. But I understand that these thigns come with consequnces, so if your dude would throw, for example, Marjorie, out on her ass, totally do that.

I feel like you could probably benefit from trimming down your roster some. As it is, it feels like you don't put enough focus into your characters, and they often come across as pretty bland. I'd say pick the ones you have the strongest voice for, and work on making them stronger; put more thought into your tags and into why they are saying and doing the things they do, and what you can do that would be even more demonstrative of the character. Even if you don't end up writing all of that into your tags, the effort will show.

Also, sometimes it feels like you use OOC notes to brag about how awesome your characters are? This is mostly just with Motoko and maybe EDI and Obi-Wan, but it comes across kind of weird. However, this is just a minor complaint.

I apologize for sounding passive-aggressive. It was completely unintentional. I use my speaking voice when replying OOC and I just talk like this. It's very frustrating.

Primarily, just a few things that kind of stand out to me right now. :|a

First and foremost, I do think planning out a bit better via RP would be helpful. I understand doing things on the fly; it's freakin' RP, we can only plan so much. But for awhile, you didn't seem to know if Motoko's actions during the SHODAN event were entirely her. Granted, right now, I do like that it IS questionable, and that question hangs in the air for suspense. It works right now. But I know after Thane's operation, you were kind of going back and forth with that aspect and it sort of concerned me.

Another matter with Motoko is that I understand that she's kind of a douche; it's part of her character. But right now, I almost think she's being downright cruel with Thane in his most recent post. I don't know if she remembers what happened -- she seemed to imply she did -- but it did kind of surprise me. I don't know, you know the character better than I do and it HAS been awhile since I watched the show I'll admit. It just stuck out to me.

I do appreciate the character development, though, and it's been a fantastic opportunity. I'm definitely NOT saying you're a crappy RPer or anything of the like. I want you to understand that. I'm just pointing out two things that concerned me at this time, and I want to be helpful and point them out to you is all.

I was kind of worried about that waffling flip-floppityness too. A big part of it was that me and Teal weren't able to actually play out IC or talk OOC about how things had really gone down in full color, or the ongoign specifics like we'd planned to.

Life kind of ambushed Teal's end of things and idk. We didn't hook up. Stuff happens sometimes, and the result is confusion. To clarify; right now Motoko is stressed out big time because her carefully laid plans all fell apart, Batou is awol, other-motoko was last seen basically stealing my motoko's shit, and she was actually hacked all to hel and back which is extremely grating for her on a multitude of levels.

Her reaction to stress is to turn the bitchiness up by 9000%. Also she is generally more cruel than anything to the people she likes, re: Batou. I hate this character sometimes. Like now. Now is good for hating.

She'll probably be more mellow afterwards, at least for a while.

That's a helpful explanation. And yeah, I know; I feel bad that Teal's life exploded. Her life has that unfortunate habit. :/

I also felt bad bothering her for more Motoko/SHODAN stuff because the plot had been planned out to have this big Sollux/SHODAN synergy and I seriously do not want to make badfeelings by stealing people's thunder.

I'm not sure what canon point you took SAC Motoko from, but I assume it's from around Solid State Society? Her personality is pretty similar to movie Motoko's at that point, so I feel qualified to give a read on this.

The cruelty is more a function of not knowing how to express emotion properly than actually wanting to hurt. She's not going to jump at openings, she's just going to attack in that "the best defense is a good offense" way if someone's getting close to a touchy subject.

SSS Motoko is arguably more of a bitch than movie Motoko (see: You did what to Togusa?) but it's more from callousness and focus on results than active malice.

So I think maybe less proactive bitchery, more reactive bitchery may the be answer to what people are picking up on here.

I just wanted to say I really liked your LiveJournal names for your characters. I do not know the characters, but the names are cute.

I am at least glad to be told about it, when I'm genuinely out of line. It's kind of a bitter pill, I guess? Tastes bad, is good for you? Frustrating.

Thanks, though. That's really nice. I try hard to be clever, if I can, when picking a name. It's something you might have trouble changing later, so it's better to do it right, the first time around, yeah? I kind of dislike

standaloneshell, but I'm so used to it now that I wouldn't change it anyways.

I know another anon already brought this up, but I'd like to elaborate on it a bit. You do come across as being overly pushy with your characters. While there's nothing wrong with wanting to form CR with/join certain groups, I would recommend slowing down and letting it happen naturally; otherwise the effect is sort of like shoving your face up against someone else's and breathing heavily.

One thing I've noticed you doing somewhat frequently is replying without contributing ('no transmission'/'not here' comments. Unless it's to mention/add something relevant (___ hacked the post but didn't say anything, etc.) it can be distracting. It's fine as an occasional joke, but seeing and receiving it over and over can get a bit tiresome.

I've enjoyed what I've seen of your Obi-Wan so far and I honestly do think the best cure to any issues with him is to simply do more with him. Any kinks will sort themselves out soon enough, though I can't imagine what they would be as I don't really foresee any. Of course, disclaimer I am slightly biased as I do play one of the clones.

I also like your EDI and I can hear her speaking the lines. Not exagerating, just giving my opinion here. I can understand how some might think that comes across a bit flat perhaps, but it's how EDI talks and I feel you deliver that very well.
