Please note that while receiving positive feedback is also nice, it's much nicer to know exactly why someone might think they're doing a good job. Try to be specific as possible, although there's no rule saying you have to.

Since I'm (still) not familiar with the canon, I can't comment on his ICness. But as far as being concerned about being too casual goes: I haven't noticed anything like that. To me, he's consistently read as being very professional and collected. Not professional like, 'THIS IS ME HAVING AN APPROPRIATE CONVERSATION; ALL OTHER TOPICS ARE DENIIIIED.' Just professional in dealing with things, especially when talking to 'civilians'. Not intimidating, but obviously being in a position of authority/leadership.

Also f-fff can't comment about stepping on toes, but the part about having the Spartans dress in armor read as both a great idea ICly and ... really entertaining OOCly. Suddenly these people in armor being all 'HRGH MUST WEAR OTHER CLOTHES >(' is just. Ffffffff.

I am the least helpful person ever, I know.

TO CUT THROUGH THIS USELESS BABBLE: He seems like a very cool guy, and I bet he doesn't afraid of anything. You present him in a way that makes his position of authority completely believable. I've never had any trouble believing that he's in a position of leadership. Plus your tags are just fun to read, so. :|b Keep doing what you do.
