MOD ANNOUNCEMENT + DISCUSSION

Hey kids, Vic here. As you've probably noticed, the game has slowed significantly and the overall metaplot is sadly lacking in progression. We regret to say this has been from mods simply not having the time or drive to, well, mod. It's not always a fun job, and sometimes people lose steam. Personally I'll be going back to school and working full time in just a couple short weeks and simply won't have time, and the other mods are in similar boats.

What we're asking you, the players, is this: Should we roll out the End Game plot, or is anyone out there willing to take up the reins? We'd need several individuals (around three) willing to dedicate time to run the game and keep things flowing. We'd provide setting and plot information as required to get the ball rolling, and several of us are willing to keep piloting key NPCs, but ultimately you would have the reins of the game.

So. Thoughts?

As a note: I am willing to help out in smaller scale things like list maintenance and app reviewing if you guys that want to try to take the reigns decide you need any of those sort.

I just don't think I could handle true modding. But well, if I'm needed for more? I'm willing to learn if someone with experience shows me ropes.

Since you're trying to build up a list.

what list what okay I'm lying I know excactly what you mean

As of right now, including myself I've seen six people volunteer: You, me, Charlie, Varis, Sarah and Larissa. You, Larissa and Charlie volunteered for back end, while I'm more oriented towards plot, which is also what Sarah and Varis were leaning towards. Carolyn offered to help with the rollover as well for a couple AC cycles.

And she's already volunteered to help with showing the modding ropes, which makes me more comfortable throwing myself up.

I definitely agree with Carolyn that spreading out the load would be the smartest idea. And her showing the ropes would make me happy. Varis also modded a game at one time, so they have some previous experience yay?

(My only modding experience was more along the lines of 'plotted musebox' so.)

I've got experience herding cats(I was basically a junior officer in a large WoW guild. The atmosphere isn't that different), and I've got a fair variety of fandoms I know, including a lot of obscure stuff. What I don't know? I'd love to research. Dunno if the current app team would be coming along with transition.

I think it'd be neat if they could, but we should be prepared that they might not want to!

Yea. Don't want them to feel obligated to stay if they're burned out. If we're going to stand a chance, we need people that want to be here in charge. Not people chained in place.

fwiw I'm okay with plot stuff too, I just know I wouldn't be able to handle NPCs. I can plot/figure out overarching stuff, but I absolutely am not someone who can play an NPC full-time, just for events and stuff. Event and metaplot plotting I can do for sure, and I'm good with coding-fu so admin work's cool with me too.

Sweet! I was kind of hoping everyone volunteering for admin would at least be down with some plotting, so it's nice to know you're up for that, and possibly NPC during events. It's something to keep in mind.

I'm terrible with code fu. I can make it work when you give me a format, but ask me to write a table and I'll draw you a smiley face instead.

Yeah, I just know how much I can take on normally with one character, and being involved in admin/mod/plot work and adding a plot-important NPC just isn't in the cards for me. Plot details and events I can do fine, though, and coding-fu's actually my day job so that's no problem at all.
