But what does this mean for you?

Liara has set up cameras all over the station: at least one by every teleporter so she can keep track of people's comings and goings, and there are others scattered around in places where residents often visit, such as the aquarium and bars and such. I am keeping the locations of the cameras vague so I don't infomod anyone; if you don't want Liara to know what your character is up to, just let me know. I will always ask before assuming she knows anything about what's going on.

What else does this mean for you?

If you'd like, you can volunteer information on just what your character up to! Everybody fucking loves the Shadow Broker dossiers, and I'd love to have something like that for Singularity. Does the straightlaced, uptight military expert spend his days leveling his prot-specced pally in Everbreath of Fantasy? Does your character read Hemmingway and play with action figures? Let me know.

I will also take this opportunity to mention that I am having serious computer trouble and that tags will take approximately forever and a day to come out, so if I haven't responded to you lately (...or in two whole weeks...), it's not that I hate you. It's just very difficult to tag from an ereader sometimes. :C I don't know when this problem will be resolved, so consider me on an indefinite slowaitus.

Curious: Is this system able to be detected/hacked? Is it on an isolated system?

She tried to put them in unobtrusive areas and blend them in with the rest of Hypatia's cameras, but feel free to have a character notice them. I am also willing to plot something out if you want to hack them. C:

Quick question - you said the locations of the cameras are vague, but that they're by every teleporter. Isn't that infomodding by default? I haven't played far enough in Mass Effect to know anything about the Shadow Broker (I just met Liara), but I would think that it'd be easier to say that just some of the teleporters have cameras by them. Just my two cents.

Maybe so, but I didn't want there to be an ic conflict if she gets an okay to notice something in one zone and then later had to explain that she didnt see something else in the same zone due to lack if cameras. Consistency, you know? The way I was planning on handling it was just simple "human" error; there would be a lot of just blank, uninteresting footage to go through, and she's only one person. Maybe she just missed whatever happened. I would still always ask before assuming she knew anything about a character's actions.

Yeah, it makes sense! It's just that having it on all of the teleporters seems like a stretch, at least to me, given how big the zones are and how many teleporters there are. Like I said, I'm not really canon familiar, so I don't know what lengths she'd go to or anything, it just seems easier for there to be holes in her system versus that she has a record of every teleporter use on the station, whether or not she sees it.
