FEAR GAS EVENT

Many of you may be familiar with Scarecrow, one of the most famous amongst Batman's villains. If not, well, here's a brief recap: Scarecrow is a madman obsessed with learning and exploiting the fears of others. Primarily he does this with use of his infamous fear gas, a substance that causes a person to hallucinate a realistic scenario of their worst fears. The world around you seems to form into your worst nightmare, mutating to accustom your discomforts and frighten you.

So guess what's going to happen? Yeah, the Rift is going to drop in a few canisters of fear gas. It doesn't stop there, of course. The Joker is going to be delighted that Doctor Crane's gas has arrived and is more than happy to share his excitement with the entire station! So much so that he's going to share it with everyone by dumping the stuff into the vents. Have fun breathing that in! Which also means you get to face your worst fears.

Bear in mind that the hallucinations are hyper realistic and takes the will of a Batman to fight off. Some people can -- after experiencing those discomforting fears. And they may come back, because that gas is pouring on in for a few days.

Some key notes:
- The event will begin on Apirl 27th and it will end on May 4th.
- If you need a good example of how the fear gas will affect your character, here's a good example of the gas affecting Batman in one of the games, Arkham Asylum.
- If you want a synthetic character affected, we can push to say that the gas has evolved from the Rift somehow and has micro-nanites that can act as a temporary virus to affect the processor.
- When the event ends, it can be due to one of two factors: (A) Someone is able to set up a cure for the gas somehow and spreads it through the vents, or (B) Hypatia flushes the vents clean.

I know DC doesn't have as many telepaths running around as Marvel, but do you think a telepath going in and screwing with the fear center of the brain would stop the effects? On someone else, I mean. Emma's just going to fight it off through sheer bitch willpower.

In short, I think Emma can fight against her own reactions and help people, but she can't outright negate it for other people. Does that work? :|a

Since, sad to say, Joker tends to be immune to Crane's Toxins. Whether it's because he's already off his nut, an utter sociopath and thus immune to standard human emotions like fear, or that he was dipped in a big-ol-Batman-style-vat-of-EVIL-CHEMICALS and that's how he came to be, we may never know...but, long story short, he'll be having a lark just running around the station, screwing with people.

In his other game (he's a CR AU and from dramadramaduck ), he got forcefully changed into a dark super form (due to getting zapped with negative chaos energy from fake chaos emeralds) and had attacked a few people against his will. He was snapped out of it both times with help and the fake emeralds are gone, but there was Christmas with Hypatia giving him fake emerald shards as a present and that freaked him out.

In the case of Nobodies, I think they have fear on a more... instinctual level? They don't have fear conventionally like humans, naturally, but there's the need for survival. If that works for ya.

SAM won't be dangerous on fear gas, just kind of a sobbing ball of manchildpain (that is unless someone provokes said ball of mandchildpain).

CT on the other hand is a big mess of bad decisions and destruction when she's in fear mode, so stay tuned. There may possibly be some defenestration involved.

ETA: There will also be much backtagging because finals and I graduate on the 5th and all of the family is coming into town to have sandwiches and drink beer. :3

Alan won't be a Big Problem on the fear gas. How it's going affect is he's going to constantly think Sam is in some kind of danger. This could problematic if he creates some kind of negative feedback loop that, in his paranoia, leads him to sic Grid or Tron or anything remotely "a threat."

Fenris is going to be a mess. Looking for volunteers for him to hallucinate as Danarius (his abusive, former master that he had already killed), his sister Varania (who betrayed him to said master, and who he nearly killed for it), or any other powerful magister that will send him over the edge.

NOTE/TW: Fenris's back story deals heavily in physical and sexual abuse. With that in mind, I would like to keep references to rape and torture at an absolute minimum. I can try to avoid it with anyone wanting to participate in his part in the event. Please, please let me know in advance to actively avoid any mention of sexual abuse when tagging.

Harley - Will not be effected by the fear toxin, since she's been living around the crap for ages; and since Ivy made her immune to all toxins/poisons. THANKS, RED! 8D

Instead, she will be running around with toxin filled balloon animals and Jack-In-The-Boxes. BECAUSE THIS SHIT NEEDS TO BE CRAZIER! 8Db And Jack in the boxes are creepy as fuck, so seeing them while under the gas will be HILARIOUS!!!! 8D 8D 8D

Zhaneel - Will be traumatized as fuck. She has epic emotional and physical abuse in her past, so this will be bringing that shit right up to the front and making all the hurts fresh and new.

Please tell me if you'd rather she avoid tagging your character during the event. I can keep things pretty tame, or go whole haul depending on the comfort level of those I'm tagging. *hugs* Honestly, she shouldn't be much worse than she already has been, except that this will make it all raw and new for her again.

Eponine - I was thinking of intro'ing her before this starts, but now I need to consider waiting until it's over. I DUNNO!

Roxas is probably going to be under the effects of this. He'll probably be seeing phantoms of people he doesn't want to see (ie: Saix and Xemnas), people who he left behind (Axel and Xion*) and Sora for good measure.

He'll probably be panicking and waving his keyblades about. I figure this can go two ways. Either he panics himself to exhaustion, in which case it would be nice if someone found him OR someone can find him waving his keyblades about (accidental whacks on the head? Some form of minimal violence? I'm down for either).

Leoben remains a mystery so I might just focus on Roxas.

Since I'm away for the weekend this will probably be going down when I get back, so either the 30th or the 1st.
