Temporary Lock Out

In brief, this will work like a mix between the something like the job board and a continuous mini-event revolving around the NPC Semley/ARM’s duties on the station and taking advatange of the two things players love--being horrible to their characters, and being horrible to other people’s characters.

Semley is as you know, Hypatia’s acting enforcer deployed on the station when the place started getting a little too crowded and rancorous for her Purge loving tastes. While essentially her right hand man/attack dog, Hypatia has kept her pet abomination squarely in the alignment of Lawful Neutral. Insofar he has and continues to not pursue any station resident unless they make it obvious they’re going to kill someone, break the lawn furniture, pee in the pool, etc etc.

That’s where Temporary Lock Out comes in. Temporary Lock Out is the step taken when a character makes an in-game ass of themselves OR if another character has reported them to Semley as a ne'er-do-well-type hooligan. Using his A-Tyrannical-Space-AI-Wizard- It-and-As-Plot-Demands abilities, Semley will track down the offending station resident and forcibly lock them out of a number of things the player can choose from.There is no end to the list of supposed transgressions your character can do. It doesn’t even have to be true! If another character comes up with a compelling enough statement, they can troll the ass out of their selected target by way of Semley.

For a set amount of time your character can be punished by having something of there’s taken away. It could be anything from their special abilities, companion animal/AI, weapons, armor, use of limb (unless you’re Charles), vehicle, station privileges (credits, access to part of the station, features on the wearables) or really anything your sadistic imaginations can come up with.

Another fun feature is your character has the option of knowing exactly who or what reported them to Semley, and why. Mind you this will of course all be done with player permission. Reporting another player’s character without that mun’s consent is VERBOTEN. It can be assumed that if you are reporting your own character without the help of another player, Semley himself reported your character.

Brief nature of violation: Regardless of the risks involved, it's only a matter of time before Mr. Matthews here starts to get that itch to start being nosey again, and attempt to hack his way around the system for clues -- ANY kind of clues. He'd believe there to be something going on and he wants to find out what. Whether or not if he does is up to you guys. Just can't blame a programmer for trying, can't you?
Requested “lock out” Blindness. His ability of perception is heavily associated with his sight, so taking this away from him, even momentarily, would be a terrifying experience.
Est. length of lock out: One week would be enough to shake the shit out of him.

Physically taking away something crucial as a sense isn't totally out of bounds; you're free to do it because it is your character.

Raimi will have to make it fairly obvious that the shit he's pulling will be detrimental to the station. Easy enough.

An example for what would be considered detrimental? He would definitely try to pry his way through anything that he's locked out of (because challenges), and maybe go as far as attempting to reprogram some things (i.e. the A.I., which he's been working on in his spare time since he's been trying to debug his own A.I. program for awhile now). I also wouldn't put it past him to at least TRY and hack the credits system on a few occasions in the past, if that would also count as a violation that grounds for a lockout as well.

As for when... Sometime mid/late-February? Like the 20th or something?

Anything deemed vital to the station; it needs to be something that would drive Semley is a self-induced rrrrage. The credits system is all but ignored at this point; Hypatia figures everyone is going to try at least once so w/e keep calm and carry on.

Reprogramming anything that would give Raimi some kind of foothold above the other residents, or maybe even Hypatia herself, would insight such a brutal reaction. Security systems, life support, a large number of red shirt drones, etc. etc.

Late February works! Sometime a little after Space Prom?

That works! Because, yeah, Raimi would try and tweak with one or more of the drones AT LEAST once... if that kind of thing is allowed (game-wise, not Semley-wise). It's like a combination of boredom and trying to get a better bearing on how the station's technology functions. Haha, the fact that he could use it as a foothold is an afterthought.

After the Space Prom would be great. I wasn't around for the last one, so I'd really like to do that and THEN be a horrible person.
