Your diction is spot on and you catch a lot of facets to him that I think most people ignore or overlook in favour of OMG WOOBIES!!! I like that you haven't forgotten he's ruthless, that he's deceptive, that he can be a total jerkass and still come out of it being a pretty good friend. Your writing and diction both suit him perfectly as well, it's nice to see such a solid gestalt.
