GREETING SINGULARITY & PERMISSIONS

HELLO SINGULARITY. This is Ammay of thunder god fame bringing you one (1) Sherlock Holmes from the '09 movie! He's coming in post movie and will still be mercilessly untactful.

WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY NEXT QUESTION - I'll be putting up a permissions post on his journal in a few days but for right now I'm just throwing this out here.

If you don't want Holmes to make uncannily accurate deductions regarding your character and their past/everything, please let me know! What I do is basically troll applications, wikis, whatever and come up with what I feel could lead to Holmes making the deductions. Let's take Deadpool for instance! ( with thanks to Pat! )

- disdain for personal safety and seemingly not bothered by any damage incurred = nothing to live for - was there past emotional loss? highly likely ( healing powers?! )
- treatment of the world as an entire joke ( references to an RP, meta jokes ) = reinforcing hiding real pain and emotional trauma
- antics that seem to draw attention to himself = a desire to be noticed (even accepted?)

SO SOMETHING GENERALLY ALONG THOSE LINES is what I'd limit myself to - nothing super specific that I can't generally back up with some sort of reason why. And all would be based on specific things that Holmes have noticed in game. If he hasn't see say, someone avoid all alcohol, he's not make an assumption that they're an alcoholic/have a family history of it. ALSO unless your character asks him to do what he does there won't be any aimless history digging - just offhanded comments.

As far as Pietro's concerned, feel free. He pretty much wears his daddy issues on his sleeve, makes absolutely no secret of his speed and views on mutant supremacy, etc etc. Sherlock is more than welcome to deduce pretty much anything about him. UP TO AND INCLUDING THE 'why is your relationship with your sister so, um, that way?' If you want to have a moment of LOL WHOOPS HOLMES WAS WRONG then we can do something re: THEY AREN'T ACTUALLY OFF BEING SIBLINGCESTUOUS...

Terry - idk quite how to swing that, I definitely don't want Holmes to be able to look at him and go OH HEY BATMAN. I think it'd be better if we just play that one by ear if we tag them at any point? :|a...

Charles- 'wow this lad is a spoiled, Oxford-educated prat, spent most of his life in America but born in England, recently paralyzed, etc etc'. I'm cool with him knowing p. much everything but the telepathy right off the bat. Charles is a bit of an open book that way. If the telepathy ever comes up we can talk about it? :3

Thom - I HAVE NO IDEA IF THEY'D EVER EVEN TALK but it's obvious that he's a career soldier, mildly uncomfortable in command due to ~past fuckups~ and is generally pretty laid back.

I'm cool with deductions about my characters - in fact Sherlock is probably actually good at reading Emile's body language even though his face is covered 99% of the time, which will make interacting with him a lot easier. I have this here Spartan, Delta (alaspooryork), and some other hoser I'll be tossing up an OOC intro for soon.

Holmes is welcome to get what he wants about Emma, minus the telepathy, since she's being pretty cagey about it. He'd probably be one of the few who'd be able to spot that she has a Boston Brahmin accent rather than an English one. (My compromise between Morrison and everyone else who's ever written her, ahem.)

Flynn is going to be an interesting case, since Holmes is, er, unlikely to hit on "trapped inside a computer for 1000 subjective years" as an explanation. But hey, maybe he can pull it off. XD

Alex is an actual computer, so that should be fun.

I am a-okay with Holmes making deductions; it'd creep Wash right the fuck out, that's for sure, and he can always use more of that. The only thing is that he strictly posts audio-only on the network, so I'm not sure how much would come across just through voice. :|a

Canonwise, she's also from before the Time War, so New Who canon wouldn't technically affect her.

Loki; trollolol. This I would prefer to discuss on thread-by-thread basis, since his powers of perception and experience are quite extensive. Heck, he could even try and troll him at some point re: detectiving.

Violet; have at her! I'm not concerned about her being Sherlocked, if the occasion arose.

Nightwing; another thread-by-thread basis. BAsically, as with Roy and Terry, I'd like to keep his sekrit identity separate from DAT ASS IN DAT MASK.
