MOD ANNOUNCEMENT

Hola Singloritas, Carolyn aqui. Pursuant to my remit as the Boring Mod, I am updating the game's info pages. As you may have noticed already, Applications, Reserves, and Contact & FAQ have been updated to the new, easier-to-maintain format, and have up-to-date information. Tonight we can add, by popular demand, an LJ-based Taken page to that list! It's actually getting long enough that I might split it in two parts soon, but LJ is behaving badly enough right now that I'm not going to press my luck.

I was working primarily from the responses to this post from October, but I also checked intros/drops in the OOC comm since then, and the Taken list on the wiki. (ETA: And I finally got the Hiatus/Drops pages to load. /sigh) However, I'm sure there are still errors, so I would appreciate it if you could take a look and confirm that I've got your characters' information right, and if you wanted to skim your canons/friends' info too, that would be great. It's especially important we have all the active characters listed, so that there's no confusion over reserving or apping. I'm not so concerned with having dropped characters still listed; they'll get swept in the next AC. You can let me know about any mistakes here.

The Taken list will be added to the navigation footer that appears on all the info pages once I'm reasonably convinced it's correct, though that may not happen until LJ settles down.

Up for the reserve round when the mod team is less busy are the community layouts and the Jobs Board. We are going to find/code a layout that will allow you to use tags reliably again, which may involve picking a blah-but-useable layout from the free list until something both pretty and functional can be hacked together. Again, this is dependent on LJ's behavior over the next few days (have you noticed a pattern yet.) In the meantime, using the ?format=light option will let you view tags:

http://[COMMUNITY].livejournal.com/tag/[TAG]?format=light

It's clunky, but it works.

Regarding the Jobs Board, as discussed here, we are working on tweaks to the credit system, hopefully to reduce confusion. Until then, remember that credits cannot be spent. If a character has 10 credits, they will always have 10 credits, unless they transfer them to another character, or are victimized by Hypatia's capricious whims. Credits are a threshold system, like experience points. More credits allow access to more privileges and luxuries, just like more XP lets you learn cooler spells or swing a bigger sword. As announced earlier, Sacrosanct-based jobs no longer require mod approval, but any insurgency jobs still do. Hacking credits out of the system is doable for reasonably tech-savvy characters, but needs to be approved through the Requests page.

That's all for now! Thanks for reading.

renegade shepard's username is wrong (cmdr_renegade instead of vanguard_charge)
kaiden's username lacks an underscore (allianceman)

rattmann's username isn't showing up properly, due to a misspelling (labrattmann, not labrattman)

mega man x's player's name is off to the side instead of under their info

Of course Terezi catches all the mistakes.

Fixed, though Nu's name wasn't showing oddly for me. Could take another sniff and see if it's still displaying wrong for you?

dfghj :]

Nu's name looks fine now, but Jun's username is messed up (there's an R added to the end that shouldn't be there)

NGL, it's probably because I put in Prism and Rookie, and then c+p'ed Rookie's entry for everyone else.
