WILD KARI APPEARS

Hey, there! This is Kari (you know, that jerk that plays [Bad username or site: timeturntable title= @ livejournal.com]), and I'm dragging in Lina Inverse from Slayers! She's basically an egotistic, hotheaded sorceress with a Chaotic Neutral disposition, a treasure fetish, and access to tactical weaponry in the form of black/shamanistic magic. (No, really. We had to nerf her; she can't destroy entire villages in a single move anymore.) Just don't get in her way or call her short/underdeveloped/make fun of her/look at her funny and you're probably in the clear.

Awesome to have a second character here with all of you! ;u;7

Slayers is still my favorite anime, even after all this time. I have very fond memories of the series and of Lina. ♥

Ahhh, it's not my favorite, but it was the first one I ever paid money for. 120 dollars that I saved up., when it was brand new on DVD. OTL

Aaaaah Next is the best season *_* I wasn't a fan of Try, but it was worth it to see more of the characters. The new seasons they put out were meh.

I remember buying it with my savings too! On VHS. /so old

So I've heard! C: Yeah, the pretty unanimous opinion amongst my friends seems to be that Try wasn't worth it. A shame, since dragons are pretty much the biggest thing ever for me? :'[

(sdfsdf I just rented the VHS to watch. I saved for the DVDs because they were shinier.)

Dragons are my thing too, but yeah. Try tried a little too hard to be serious business and Slayers is so much better when it takes itself lightly. There's this big political overtone and all this dark back story that just kind of kills the Slayers mood. At that point the comedy seems to be out-of-place rather than integrated into the story-telling, and the new heroine and new bad guy definitely don't make up for it. :\
