Hello, hello!

This is Kiki, brand new to playing at Singularity, and I'm bringing you the zombie-fighting Shaun Mason here. Brother (adopted) to Georgia Mason that you may already know, the more gregarious, loud, daring, obnoxious, and unpredictable part of the duo. Maybe less brilliant, but he makes up for it with charm.

Beware. He has a habit of poking at dangerous things.

ETA: ALSO. For those of you who want to read the Newsflesh books and are spoilers-sensitive: beware. He is a bit too out of it at the moment to be really discreet, so things will pop up in threads. I will be cutting everything that I post, but the way he is atm is a walking, talking spoiler for everything past the ... last fifth of the first book.

... I must warn, anyone looking into Shaun's head won't find a pretty picture there. If only because he got to shoot his sister when she started zombifying (it's not all, but it's a start) (and then more than a year later, he learned that she would have gotten better, which Shaun had no idea about at the time) (whee), so poor Charles if he takes a peek. ;)

... what is this canon again and where can I devour it because this sounds remarkably like my cup of tea!

ALSO I do have a permissions post (http://selfgovernance.livejournal.com/1479.html) for the telepathy-related shenanigans because it's also totally cool if you want Chuck here to stay out of Shaun's head? I AM SO EASY GOING MAN, NEGL.

It's the Newsflesh trilogy by Mira Grant. The first two books, Feed and Deadline are out, the third, Blackout, is coming out next May. Maybe I should include a spoiler warning for those who might actually go about reading...

HAH! *goes to fill in* Generally, after all that's happened to Shaun over the last year? Finding that telepaths exist (and that he's obviously open to them) isn't even going to shock him. He'll be just... huh. Cool. Just don't try to stop me when I go poking at dangerous shit, man!

I am going to look for these books at my earliest convenience, then. And I'm sure people would appreciate a spoiler warning! I'm pretty ambivalent about such things, but sadly I cannot speak for everyone. :(

Hahahaha you know, he takes it at a whole different level. His paid job is to go poke at dangerous (usually dead and reanimated) things and then go and blog about it. With video footage and voicovers. He sometimes seems like a minor natural disaster. (then again, their adoptive mom - who does the same for her job - is described as always a seven point five on the Richter scale.)

At least Shaun's unlikely to drag with him anyone other than Georgia when he does it.
And then will entertain everybody over the network with the footage.

The hideous shit adds to the whole of it. It partly made Shaun more excited. Until he lost first a good friend and then his sister, that is.

... oh. I think I should mention that their adoptive parents are a big part of the reason for the trauma? Their home wasn't exactly filled with love. Unless there were cameras rolling.

... actually, to be fair. He sort of specializes in people who've had trauma courtesy adopted parents.

... it's Charles Xavier. Even if some of Shaun's headmates find him oddly adorable in the younger version, he's still... yeah, he tries to take care of his people. It's the way he is.

I'm sort of surprised he has yet to set up an institute for all the people on Sacrosanct yet, roflolol. MAYBE WHEN I HAVE MORE TIME.
