THIS IS A TRUE STORY:

Back when Denmark owned them, they were a piece of crap. Well admittedly this was before the days of tourism, really. But: total shit. Denmark used to charge a ridiculous amount of money to people sailing in his waters, and it pissed off America. So America proposed attacking the Virgin Islands as sort of… "if you don't stop taxing us, we will take them!"

And then they went, "wait, they're such crap that Denmark would probably just be happy someone took them off his hands………"

DENMARK: THE BEST PARENT.
