Species Swap Event

On May 20th, Kaylee and Bro are going to go on a date. Normally, this wouldn't mean anything to anyone on the station except for them, but Kaylee just happens to be a very curious mechanic whose idea of the perfect date involves digging into the wiry heart of the station.

Long story short? The teleporters are about to start malfunctioning. While they'll still get your character from point A to point B, there will also be a solid chance that they will be one of the lucky people who experiences a random teleportation error. This error? It scrambles your character's DNA and they might just come out the other side with fins, hooves, or mandibles. A human is now a salarian. A troll is now a golden retriever. In short: species swap.

The effects will last until the 27th when Hypatia manages to replace the necessary parts to repair the damage done.


A quick run-down of rules are as follows:
-Species will be limited to current residents of the station unless otherwise approved.

-No splicing two or more species together please. We don't need any half-unicorn, half-dragon wolves running amok. Keep it simple. There's plenty enough to wig out over with a total gene swap.

-The swap will occur as a “random accident” upon your character teleporting. If you don't want to take part in the species swap shenanigans, it's safe to assume that your character simply wasn't effected.


To generate CR:
A log will go up on the start day of the event. Should you choose, the teleporter error may also have the unfortunate side-effect of routing your character to Garden Zone 1 instead of their desired location.

Don't fret, though, they won't be stuck and there will be more people behind them, coming through from other parts of the station on a similar detour. It's the perfect rendezvous. Have your character chat with them, gape at their new bodies, or find another teleporter and go on their merry way.

Or have a panic attack. Whichever.

So, I notice trolls aren't listed up here yet. This needs to be fixed.

Trolls are grey-skinned humanoids with candy corn colored horns, sharp teeth, and yellow eyes. Their blood runs a gamut of rainbow colors, which denotes where you fall on the social ladder. Trolls come in two flavors: land- and sea-dwelling. Land-dwellers are your average, run-of-the-mill trolls, whereas the sea-dwellers are typically nobility, with fins, gills, and blood that runs up on the higher end of the hemospectrum.

Trolls are generally more aggressive and violent than humans, both due to their culture and their natural instincts (although this isn't the case for everyone, obviously). Some also have psychic abilities -- Sollux and Aradia are telekinetic, and Vriska is able to manipulate people's minds.

You will also have ridiculously complicated romantic entanglements. No one will have any idea what is going on at any given time. No, not even you.

Oh, while I'm thinking about this, would making him a purple-blood be too...idk. Mary Sueish? He is a God two entire species and to get him to have a temper at all, he'd have to be pretty far up the hemospectrum.

ANYWAY. Since NOTHING MUCH has been revealed about rainbow drinkers IN CANON, for this? You all get to become privy to my particular amount of HEADCANON BULLSHITERY, which will be put in smalls parantheses. If the mods allow, of course.

Rainbow drinkers are a sort of sub-species of trolls. They are creatures of the day, the Alternian parallel to vampires on Earth, and probably where the idea originated from. There. Now you all know who to blame.

Rainbow drinkers:
- Glow in the dark (The amount of glowing is parallel to the intensity of emotion. Kanaya glows violently when kicking the shit out of everyone in canon, and then resumes a mild glowing after she calms down.)
- Drink blood. Adurr. (Lower blood colors are more filling, but grant less strength, higher blood colors grant more strength, but are less filling. Karkat is an untested anomaly and human blood is probably filling, but nausea inducing.)
- Enhanced strength, speed, agility, etc. (To what degree depends on the amount/type of blood taken in.)
- Healing (You no longer heel fully on your own. This is because you are DEAD and CAN'T. In order to get the energy to heal, you need to be in the sun for a long period of time. Or you need to drink blood. Otherwise, you can go to the magic space hospital and get everything healed. Everything. Even the smallest cut.)

I have NO IDEA what else to BULLSHIT for this, so FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS providing you ACTUALLY CARE? I GUESS?

also double bonus all the way across the sky? Here is an easy little way to apply troll shit to WHOMEVER WANTS IT.

Symbol: Anything will do, really, but here (http://www.suberic.net/~dmm/astro/constellations.html) is a a list of the astrology-related ones.

Blood Color: There is a list of colors here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_colors), along with what the hexcode for them is. Liana's link for how the blood caste works can be applied to whatever color you want. Reds Oranges and Yellows are low. Greens are mediums. Blues and Indigos are high. Violets are the highest and also Sea Dwellers. Candy red is always a mutation always and Karkat is the only special troll snowflake allowed to have it I guess? I don't know. I'm not Linda.

Strife Specibus: If the mods see fit to grant temporary castmates this kind of thing, here (http://mspaintadventures.wikia.com/wiki/Strife_Deck) is a page for how that works. To put it simply, it allows that person to obtain something of a mastery in that weapon. Sort of. Ish.

Fetch Modus: Same with the above. Here (http://mspaintadventures.wikia.com/wiki/Sylladex) is a wiki page. To put THIS simply, a Fetch modus stores all your items on little cards. Those cards can become corporeal, somewhat, but can also be stored in something like a pocket dimension that sort of follows the user everywhere. Some of them are annoyingly difficult to use and some are easy. All have parameters you can pull out of your ass and if you can weaponize it, it will throw your shit at other people.

Typing Quirk: Trolls usually type in their blood color unless they are MUTANT FREAKS like KARKAT. Quirks can be simple replacement (v=vv i=*) or just not using punctuation or capitalization. Or OVERusing it. I've crammed the basic code into the little box thing EVEN THOUGH YOU ALL PROBABLY KNOW IT. This way you can just replace the hexcode, put it in an .rtf and just copy paste it for all your text post needs.
