Greetings Singularity! We thank you for your patience as we undergo another set of minor changes to the rules and clarify some issues that were brought to our attention.
AU limitations
As you all know, we’ve had an influx of AU’d characters recently. While we’re pleased with the interest our game has generated, we’ve received a number of complaints both directly and anonymously. To prevent problems, we have revised the rules regarding AU’s. From now on, only one ‘canon’ and two ‘AU’ versions of any character will be playable in game at the same time. Characters without an official “canon” status (such as Commander Shepard from Mass Effect) may have three AU’s in game.
Please be sure to fill out your slot in the taken list so that potential applicants will know which characters are available come next round.
Potential Homestuck applicants:
After some discussion about the issue, we regret to announce that we are putting a cap on Homestuck character applications for the following round. Only “canon” characters will be app-able due to the high concentration of AU apps we have received recently. We will be happy to consider further AUs in the future, but for the moment we would like to encourage potential players to consider “new” characters to app, rather than several AU duplicates of the same character.
Participation in memes
While participation in the derp community has no bearing on in-game events, we would like to formally discourage players (both existing and potential) from commenting with characters not involved in the game. This is what museboxes and communities like dear_mun are for.
We have no problem with dropped characters making appearances, as they have existing game CR.
Posting apps during the closed cycle:
Lately it seems that we’ve been getting a lot of applications during the ‘closed’ portion of the month. While we can understand that sometimes there can be misunderstandings as to when we are open or closed (sometimes due to us not officially posting the ‘closed’ notice on time) we would like to remind all applicants that there is a reserves page for a reason. It isn’t fair to post an app during a closed period so that it will be looked at first. From now on, we will post a request to re-submit when apps open and then delete the comment within 24 hours.
The applications page will remain closed for the month of June while the mods streamline several processes, clean up the rules page, and move large portions of information into the Wikipedia. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause, but we believe that for the sake of the game, it will be best if any confusing or contradicting information is altered.
Furthermore:
We would like to acknowledge that as mods, we are not the most speedy in regards to requests, jobs, applications, and canon updates. If your request has gone a few days without answer, (or your app hasn’t been acknowledged in over a week) we encourage you to IM or PM one of us. We don't bite!
