Hello, Singularity! I'm Zero, and I'm bringing this big metal ball of misanthropy over to Sacrosanct! That's right, Protoman is coming--but not as many of you might know him! This is the First Son of Light, the fallen Hero of Man who serves as the anti-villain/anti-hero of the first act of The Protomen! ...And he's coming to a highly automated city run by a mostly unseen presence. 

...Welp.

This may or may not be cause for concern. It'll probably give Flynn a shock, at the very least.

BUT NEVER MIND THAT I've stalked so many threads here over the past month or so and oh god I'm really looking forward to bringing this guy in. Details, spoilers, setting information, personality bits, etc can be found right over here at his app.

Hi. Yeah, and AAAAAAHHHH HAHA SONNY YES. I haven't seen the movie in a while, but I liked it. I'm enjoying the interactions these two are having.

do you like music and robots and RAW POWER and also George Orwell and the 80s, if so you will probably like The Protomen. It's a rock opera.

I like most movies with robots who have problems. Actually I just like robots.

And I'm glad, haha sorry it was such an in / out thing. But next time Sonny sees protoman, he might like, punch him in the face. Look out he punches through concrete. You're free to blast at him.

No problem. And...yeah, Protoman isn't quite that strong, but he's pretty up there. Either way, shield and gun.

WELLLLL IT'S NEVER BEEN DONE IN FULL STAGED CAPACITY if you don't count the band managing to play both Acts in one set, but...there's a cohesive story and it's all sung, so yeah it's a real rock opera. THERE'S A LIBRETTO WITH STAGE DIRECTIONS AND STORY BITS INCLUDED WITH THE CDS AND EVERYTHING but you can find those on lyrics.wikia too so whatever. There's just so much spirit and raw talent and variation it's amazing.

Well, right now Sonny is busted up pretty bad after fighting off an invisible raptor [and then murdering it :(] so Protoman would totally stand a chance. You know, in addition to the chance he's had before.

I'll have Sonny's (re)intro post up soonish, and maybe if Protoman was hanging around / approaching someone that looked human, Sonny would be all OH NO THREAT BAD, and then go into robot-smash mode.

Or if you wanted a serious bout of duking it out, we could wait till Sonny's gotten fixed. hurr. I'm game for both and neither, whatever you want!

Ah, yeah, I saw that. I'm not sure Protoman would be terribly willing to fight him, unless Sonny attacked first.

...Well then. Yeah, Protoman would be willing to fight him. He'd probably be more trying to just fend Sonny off and reason with him first off, to try to explain where he's coming from.

...There's also the somewhat major detail that Protoman is not and has never been compliant with the Three Laws, but that's not much of a problem really...I'm fine with either too, to be honest!

And Protoman's big rant about humanity at the climax, trying to goad the crowd into attacking and showing his "brother" that they can't be saved. GOOD IT'S MARVELOUS

Not a problem, here Sonny probably would make the first strike. But the caveat is that Protoman is hanging around someone obviously human looking.

Plus I'm pretty sure Sonny is the only guy here with the three laws [and we've seen that they don't work so hot anyway if he doesn't want them too]

Protoman is staying at a human's place and has...actually already made a couple of other human friends, surprisingly. He's viewing them as EXCEPTIONS. And it's not that hard to become an exception in Protoman's book.

As it stands, just Joe and Bro Strider. He's kind of ambivalent towards Jack Spicer and the RED Medic, with just his usual misanthropy.

I'd be up for that, and I agree. Protoman wouldn't try to take him down anyway, not without reason.

Great!

Protoman's pretty reckless when it comes to fighting, since he's already "died" twice and repairs never stopped being a thing. Sonny can rough him up and maybe break a couple of things, but nothing to knock him offline.

How obvious is it that protoman's a robot? Does he spark when hit or anything?

Also fyi: I am down for everything so long as Sonny keeps one leg intact to run / hop away.
