ETA: Fan isn't actually dead, it's just not working half the time now. Sooo I'll be <i>limited</i> to tagging now.

A temporary workaround for a broken fan is to remove the side of the tower and place an actual fan their, pointed inward. It'll displace the heat to allow the computer to run until you can replace the actual component. It won't run quite as cool as normal but it's not dangerous.

...If it's a laptop your kinda out of luck, though.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep it's a laptop. :C I will have to remember that for later if I get my tower(s) up and running again!

but to be honest, the computer is 8 years old, and it was threatening to go out one of these days.

Right now, though... It's still working, but it's not going to get any quieter, noise wise. :I;;;
