Ooh, very unique. Well, here are two ideas I could propose:

-He's still microscopic, but he can be inserted into a machine body he's able to control. In this state he'd only be able to infect someone if they were brought physically in contact with him.

-He's sized up, but his successful infectious rate would be severely diminished, due to string resonance being used to keep his body from destabilizing. Also, because he'd be genetically very uniform, he'd have a higher rate of mutation when passing through teleporters. (That could be good or bad-- for other people.)

Do either of those sound like they'd be effective for what you're going for? If not you can definitely hit us up on AIM for some brainstorming.
