SLOWATUS + PLOTTING

Just a heads up that I'm going to be slow on tags for a bit - shocking, I know. Most of my tagging will happen on the weekend/if I have time to sneak a few at work, which is unlikely, alas.

THAT SAID, I had plot-related queries to pose to you all regarding Steve's last post. He has two reasons for wanting to create a scientific database. The first is exactly what he said - an organized resource that people researching the station can use and build on to further their own work.

The second? He wants to know who will try to hack/steal/destroy/alter the information, and subsequently why.

SO, do you have anyone who would do one of the above? Would you like to do plotty things? DO PEOPLE HAVE OTHER IDEAS? I'm half asleep, I swear this was better thought out in my.... head. In any case, have at, and I'll be tagging and responding here tomorrow after work. Thank you all for being patient.

Flynn might improve the security if he notices any weak spots while he's in there.

Leoben has sort of been helping Gunnar!Loki with a generator-type-thing to reverse the rift. Does that count?

One character would grudgingly help with the database, one would troll it, and the other still thinks technology is sorcery. We could probably do something with the first two :|a

Nightwing would be interested in the merits of a central database, though he's not officially a science-type on his own. Any interest he showed would be two-fold, so as to monitor what goes in and ensure that the project remained true to intents.

To be honest, he'd also want to monitor it for same secondary reason Steve would: See if anyone tried to exploit or destroy it.

As for Violet, it wouldn't really ping on her radar expect as reallllly complex, so she's a non-issue in this regard.

Batou would hack it, merely for the sake of hacking it, and store his own copy for himself.

Jade would help him organize the database!

Betty's willing to help out with coordinating the info-gathering effort. Probably not with the actual database implementation, but with structuring data and collating information and dealing with egos.

I think she might be interested on how the teleporters cause certain side effects and trying to figure out how to predict/reverse the glitches. (So if anyone wants shenanigans and failed attempts to fix teleporter effects FOR SCIENCE...)
