It's definitely going to do a number on her cheerfulness, at least for a while. She's been having a bit of a quiet crisis of faith already, and ending up in Sacrosanct instead of heaven (or, more likely in her opinion, Purgatory) is going to do a real number on her, as glad as she'll be to be able to be back with everyone. While other people from other universes might have different gods and afterlifes (something that doesn't really phase her), God is supposed to be all-powerful in her universe, and when people die, their souls are supposed to go to one of three specific places. If she is brought to Sacrosanct instead, that means that somehow God is not powerful enough to keep her, which means that he is not all-powerful, which means that maybe everything she thought about religion and God is wrong. She'd been struggling with the fact that she'd been doubting, but it wasn't a complete loss of faith. This is pretty much going to destroy that for her - though whether she finds a way to still believe in God later remains to be seen. It's been such a big part of her life for so long that losing that is going to make her feel like she's completely lost her footing, and it'll make her reconsider a lot of things she's believed up to this point that were tied into that.

While she's trying to process everything, she's going to stop writing. Which is a HUGE deal for her - she's always been writing something since she was a kid, even when she was sad or upset. It's how she's processed or dealt with a lot of the (admittedly less traumatic) low points in her life. She'll withdraw a lot from the people she's close to, and talk more with people she doesn't know as well, just to have someone to talk to that isn't worried about her, even if it's not about anything important. It's quite likely that she'll end up taking a lot of her anger at herself and the God that suddenly appears to not exist out on the people closest to her.

She WILL get through it, eventually, but it'll be a process. May is probably the one person she won't entirely push away, though it'll probably see-saw a bit between trying to lean on May and pushing her away, mostly because she's a little in love with her, and falling moreso all the time. And I've no doubt Karkat will give as good as he gets as far as yelling goes, and may be able to get some admissions out of her.

She'll be back to happy sparkly Buffy after a while, but it won't be quite so naive.

...Also, she'll probably make a habit of not wearing anything short-sleeved. Which given her usual t-shirts and tank tops style is going to be a big change. And initially her wardrobe will definitely dip into the "more subdued" category along with her personality. Because I'm sure you're very concerned about her fashion choices in approving this canon update. XD
